Frequently Asked Questions

Can I check challan without knowing the vehicle number?

No. You need either the vehicle registration number, DL number, or challan number to search.

What happens if I don't pay the challan?

Unpaid challans can lead to licence suspension, vehicle confiscation during checking, or show-cause notices.

How long do I have to pay an e-challan?

There is no fixed deadline, but challans attract additional fees if not paid promptly. Pay as soon as possible.

Can I contest an e-challan?

Yes. Visit the relevant RTO or traffic court with evidence. The portal also has an online court hearing option in some states.
