What is the FASTag Annual Pass?
The FASTag Annual Pass is a prepaid tolling plan launched by NHAI & IHMCL on 15 August 2025. It is exclusively for non-commercial private vehicles (cars, jeeps, vans) and allows travel on all National Highways (NH) and Expressways (NE) for a flat annual fee.
Purchase once through the Rajmarg Yatra app or the NHAI/MoRTH website. After 200 trips or 1 year — whichever comes first — your FASTag automatically reverts to normal per-trip deduction.
💡 Note: This is an annual subscription overlay on your existing active FASTag — not a wallet top-up.

⭐ Expert Tips for Smart FASTag Use
Check Eligibility First
Ensure your FASTag is active, affixed, not blacklisted, and linked to your VRN before attempting to purchase the Annual Pass.
Buy Before Your Trip
Purchase at least 3–4 hours before your journey — activation takes up to 2 hours. Don't buy minutes before hitting a toll.
Track Your Trip Count
Monitor remaining trips in the app dashboard. Set a reminder when 20 trips remain so you can renew before it expires.
Keep Wallet Balance Too
Maintain ₹100–200 minimum in your FASTag wallet — state highways outside NHAI still deduct from your wallet normally.
Renew Before Expiry
After 200 trips or 1 year, FASTag auto-reverts to per-trip charges. Renew immediately to avoid paying full toll rates.
Download Statements
Use the app to download your FASTag trip statement monthly — great for travel expense tracking and tax records.
Pro Tip: Calculate Your Savings
If you make more than 20 trips/year on NHs, the Annual Pass is almost always cheaper. Average toll is ₹80 — 200 trips at ₹80 = ₹16,000 in regular fees vs ₹3,075 pass. Breakeven is just ~40 toll crossings!
🔧 Fixing Common Problems
| Problem | Likely Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Pass not activating after 2 hours | Server delay or VRN mismatch | Check app status; call NHAI 1033 |
| Payment deducted, no confirmation | Gateway timeout | Wait 24 hrs; auto-refund if failed |
| Toll not reading Annual Pass | Wrong lane or tag not scanned | Use FASTag lane only; clean windshield tag |
| App shows "Not Eligible" | Blacklisted or commercial tag | Resolve blacklist with your issuing bank |
| Double toll deducted | Scanner glitch or double scan | File dispute on IHMCL portal with receipt |
| OTP not received on login | Wrong number or SMS block | Verify number linked to FASTag; retry after 60s |
| Trip count not updating | App cache or slow sync | Force-close app, clear cache, reopen |

Yes. Each toll plaza crossing = 1 trip deducted, regardless of direction. A Delhi–Jaipur return trip crossing 3 toll plazas each way = 6 trips. Plan accordingly for routes with multiple toll plazas.
Three ways: (1) SMS after every crossing shows remaining trip count, (2) Rajmarg Yatra app dashboard shows live balance, and (3) NHAI website → My Account → Annual Pass Details.
Yes! The Annual Pass works with FASTag issued by any empanelled bank — SBI, HDFC, ICICI, Axis, Kotak, Paytm Payments Bank, etc. The pass is linked to your VRN and FASTag chip, not the issuing bank.
